Indicates an emergency clause. Measures become effective as soon as they are signed by the Governor. (Note: if a bill passes by less than the required two-thirds vote, this symbol is deleted.)

Indicates when a committee is scheduled for a particular time that may be delayed due to an extended floor session.

CC

Conference Committee. This entry follows when the Senate and House fail to agree on amendments to a measure.

Committee substitute. (This entry, following a DNP report, indicates the committee’s substitute bill. Succeeding entries will record the action on the committee substitute.)

Indicates a committee substitute for a specific measure (in this example, for House Bill 18).

Senate has concurred in House amendments on a Senate bill.

SCS/H 18

Senate committee substitute for House Bill 18. (CS, preceded by the initial of the opposite house, indicates a substitute for a bill made by the other house. The listing, however, will continue under the original bill entry.)

This procedure may follow if the Senate refuses to recede from its amendments.
